Teaching Philosophy

David Leadbetter is recognized as the the World’s #1 Golf

Instructor. His teaching theories, methods and creative teaching

techniques have revolutionized the game and his influence on all

levels of golf is unparalleled.

Often associated with his contribution to the successes of Nick

Faldo, David continues to work with the world’s leading golfers,

most notably, recently crowned Masters Champion Trevor

Immelman, Order of Merit Winner Justin Rose, Ernie Els,

Michelle Wie, Charles Howell III, Ian Poulter and Nick Dougherty.

The same principles taught to these top professionals are equally

applied to complete beginners as well as high and low

handicap amateur golfers.

David Leadbetter’s theories and philosophies on the golf swing

are based on an effective method that is fundamentally simple

and easy to repeat.  The cornerstone to this idea is in developing

the correct co-ordination of all the muscles used in the swing

motion to promote efficiency and consistency of movement.

Critical to the DLGA formula is the selection and training of

instructors in David Leadbetter’s teaching philosophy.

Each DLGA instructor completes an initial training period under

David’s personal supervision. This is followed by a year of training

under the guidance of an Academy Director where golf

psychology, bio-mechanics, physiology, course management and

equipment technology are studied in conjunction with the

fundamental Leadbetter teaching philosophy.
